About Rebecca
A native of Houston, Texas, Rebecca Marie Castillo is a music educator and performer.
As a choral artist she performs with a variety of ensembles including the GRAMMY®-winning Houston Chamber Choir, Mercury Chamber Orchestra’s Mercury Singers, Pasión, and is an inaugural member of EXIGENCE Vocal Ensemble (Sphinx Organization). In the past she has performed with Bach Society Houston and Vocal Arts Ensemble (Cincinnati). She has appeared as a soloist with the Pasadena Philharmonic Orchestra and Clear Lake Chamber Ensemble as well as an outreach artist with Houston Grand Opera.
In addition to her performance work Rebecca is an active teacher and clinician. She has had award winning choirs and orchestras at both the high school and intermediate level. Choirs under her direction and co-direction have received Superior Ratings at UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest and awards such as “Judge’s Choice”, “Best in Class”, and “Best in Festival” at festivals throughout the State of Texas.
Rebecca holds a Masters in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati’s College Conservatory of Music where she studied voice with Amy Johnson. She also holds Bachelors in Music Education from Sam Houston State University where she studied with Nicole Kenley-Miller and Barbara Corbin.

Rebecca has received additional vocal training from Druid City Opera Workshop (University of Alabama), Amherst Winter Workshop, the Franco-American Vocal Academy (Salzburg, Austria), Musical Academy International (Mezzano, Italy), Chicago Summer Opera and FIO Opera.
